Fun Facts
  • For more information, check out Spook Central's Shot On Site article.
  • Technically, the only time the exterior of this location appears in the final film is a shot of Winston putting on elbow pads, shown under his credit card at the end of the film. That shot was from a deleted scene in which Louis' cousin Sherman Tully (played by Eugene Levy) helped get the guys out of the psychiatric hospital. Thankfully, we have a piece of stock footage that gives us a perfect look at the exterior where that scene took place (which is why I'm using that as my main image instead of the Winston shot).
  • Building 115 was built in 1930, has 3 floors with a total gross square feet of 60,314, and as of 2014 is used for the Research department. (source - page 29)

Pandemonium (1982)
An inmate escapes from Indiana State Asylum (25:29 into the film), the exterior of which is Building 116 on the VA Hospital property, whose back faces the Parkview location.

The horror/comedy, with the fantastic cast, is available on Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome, though a piss-poor tiny 320x240 VHS copy is up on YouTube. (It's the source for the image below.)

Wacko (1982)
Some of the events of the film takes place outside Building 156, which Rick Moranis was interviewed at in the Ghostbusters II EPK.

The horror/comedy is available on Blu-ray and DVD (Vinegar Syndrome Combo Pack). Thanks to Matthew Jordan for the find.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989)
When Alice (Lisa Wilcox) has pregnancy issues, she goes with her best friend Yvonne (Kelly Jo Minter) to the hospital. While there, she sees the ghost of her unborn child, Jacob (Whitby Hertford). As detailed in this Shot on Site article, she goes through the same hallway used in Ghostbusters II, and the hospital exterior Alice and Yvonne walk through is seen behind Rick Moranis in an EPK interview. (The gallery below has been rearranged in the reverse order the scenes are shown in the movie.)

The film is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. For more links, see my review of the 4K UHD set.

Monsters: "Mannikins of Horror" (May 20, 1989)
In an Orwellian society, Dr. Jarris (Glynis Barber) tries to help her patient, Dr. Collin (William Prince), a former brilliant surgeon obsessed with giving life to his clay figurines, before asylum director Dr. Starr (Brian Brophy) deems him incurable and, therefore, expendable. The opening exterior shots (possibly stock footage) of the insane asylum is the VA hospital; specifically the back of Building 116, shot from across the parking lot between Pershing Avenue and Grant Avenue.

The complete series of Monsters is available on DVD (UK Import Set, Australian Import Set).

iCarly: "iLost My Mind" (August 13, 2011)
After Sam kissed Freddie in a previous episode, she goes missing for three days. Carly and Freddie track her down and find out that she's checked herself into the Troubled Waters Mental Hospital. The front of the building is seen, in what appears to be old stock footage (probably filmed by the Ghostbusters II crew). That building (Building 116) is also on the VA Hospital property, whose back faces the Parkview location.
