Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel ("Firehouse") Delayed Until March 2024

From the "No Surprise to Anyone" department... As reported by Deadline, the new Ghostbusters movie, a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife currently being produced under the working title Firehouse, has had its release date changed from December 20, 2023 to March 29, 2024. The current SAG/AFTRA and WGA strikes are cited as the reason for the delay.
I was never a proponent of a December 2023 release date, as I always felt it was too soon after the completion of principal photography. I can't say that March 2024 is much better, as I always felt that a June 2024 release date would be ideal since it would tie in to the franchise's 40th anniversary.
That said, by hitting theaters in late March 2024, we'll get the home video release in time for the 40th anniversary. Perhaps Sony will release another 4K & Blu-ray mega set to commemorate the milestone, which can include the new film... and maybe all of the animated series? (Are you listening, Sony?)

From Apr. 18, 2020 to Nov. 17, 2021, I had been reviewing the "Build The Ghostbusters Ecto-1" model subscription from Eaglemoss, through their Hero Collector imprint.
