In response to: Ghostbusters: Afterlife Deleted / Alternate / Extended Scenes

Comment from: Dan [Visitor]

I can’t believe those scenes were originally in the main story of the film. I would love to see them in their entirety. I wonder if they’d ever release the assembly cut.

In response to: A Convenient Parallel Dimension: How Ghostbusters Slimed Us Forever Book Review

Comment from: Stannis [Visitor]

I thought the book was awful. Sure a couple new things come to light but it’s just so….blah. It’s poorly written. It’s written like a middle of the road like a high-school essay copied from Wiki. The writer 1000% pads out the book with details that do not matter one little bit. Then comes the COVID & Politics. I’m reading a Ghostbusters book, ok? Leave your politics out of it. Yes there were sexist morons back in 2016 but that’s not why most people disliked Answer the Call or it’s trailer. Remaking a bonafide classic movie like Ghostbusters? That’s why people hated it. But Remaking it and it being a complete unfunny, unscary, unthrilling disaster? That should be illegal. People waited, what? 25 years for a new Ghostbusters movie? Constant hype & promises and then tragically Harold Ramis passes away & Sony dances on his grave by releasing that garbage remake. The fact that any fans enjoy that POS just shocks the hell out of me.

It’s also total BS you didn’t get an acknowledgment in the book. You are easily the greatest GB source on the internet & it’s not even close. You must get tired on people stealing your research and scripts & profiting on it.

If anything, and I’ve heard this said elswhere, the 2 latest GB movies show how special Ivan, Harold & Dan were as creative partners. Because 2 very talented filmmakers have tried making a Ghostbusters movie & each kinda failed. Afterlife was fan service shlock with an ending that Harold Ramis would’ve no doubt loathed. It had some moments and was at least better than Answer the Call. But there’s just so much wrong with it. The cameos? The fan service? The lack of comedy? Apparently making Ghostbusters movies is really, really hard. Same with writing “Making of Ghostbusters” books because this is just a complete dud. I’d give it a 5 out of 10.

Yes, that is the box with Egon’s ashes next to Winston. I would guess that after Callie didn’t want them in the “Is It Ever Too Late” scene, she brought them to Winston.

As I wrote in the article, I’m positive that both end credits scenes were originally meant to be used in the film proper as part of the story.

Is that the box containing Egon’s ashes (that was seen in the 1 deleted scene on the Blu-ray) next to Winston in his office in the 2nd to last still? I wonder if originally Janine ended up taking Egon with her after that scene and upon returning to New York, went to visit Winston. And what was that part of the end tag took place early to mid-movie originally.

Thanks for the very thorough review of this set. I also want to buy this and other BDs from MonsterlandMedia. May I ask if you know someone else who has reviewed MonsterlandMedia for other cartoon series?

Comment from: Chris Buchner [Visitor]

Just stumbled across this in a Google search. I was amused to see he made use of my original Real Ghostbusters logo I uploaded to DeviantArt a decade ago. Actually, it’s amusing that so many of my logos end up the top search in Google and have appeared on other projects. As good a job as I did at the time, I hope my newer logos soon supplant those! They’re a teensy bit more accurate.

Comment from: Michael Pusztay [Visitor]

Yes they did. I’m sorry you didn’t get them. The only way I got them was contacting support every week and tracking my shipments and parts.

Many times they weren’t even going to give me anything. Til I demanded a shipping date and amount that was coming out of my card. I just kept doing it. And I was so close to getting the gurney and light bars. 3 weeks they refused to take my money. I kept calling. They wouldn’t send me anything. And yeah I knew something was up. That was back around June.

Wait a minute… Are you telling me that Eaglemoss actually produced magazines #28 through #33, with car parts #103 through #126???

Comment from: Michael Pusztay [Visitor]

I also have been doing this model. The first year was great.
I was lucky enough to get to 33/34 before they took a crap.
So I have all of the car.
I’m currently printing the roof rack at home.
I just have to say overall I can’t believe that a company like this has not had the decency to alert the customers. Die hard fans like us putting a parts model together for 2 years now, faithfully paying each time even for the garbage extras! And we get nothing. No warning no alert no communication.
Absolutely just about the nastiest thing you can do. Leave us in the dark and just remove everything. I’ve never seen something like this before. I’m still in disbelief that a company can do this. There’s nothing to be done. I’m sure somewhere down the line someone will try this again. Maybe they’ll get it right. Til then I’ll be 3d printing my last parts and I’m so sorry for the fans that didn’t get to complete at least the car.

Here are the locations of the magazine and newspaper covers in Ghostbusters II.

-Chapter 13
–Rudy is reading the Star Saves Mayor variant. The Star Saves Judge was never used in the movie but I think was only on display in the midwest sometime.

-Chapter 16:
–Peter’s apartment desk are just GB1 ones: New York Post, USA Today, and Time
–When Janine is closing up shop for the day, in Peter’s office in the back are the Life, New York Post Saves Judge, Time, and Motor Trend. The rest are from GB1; Time, USA Today, Atlantic Monthly, and Omni.

It doesn’t say ‘enidt’ but rather “senior” with the ’s’ being cut off. It’s also smudged. It refers to her grade. Notice it says she’s a 4 year player to her soccer team.

I’m really pumped for finding the full version of the first song that’s heard in the 1983 trailer! The way it sounds really makes me believe that it’s a pretty damn awesome song to drive fast to! If I could mod the soundtrack of my racing games, this would be one of many countless songs that I would add into the race bgm!

Hi Seth

The answer is NO. There is 25 years worth of free content already on Spook Central. Is that not good enough for you? The work that I’ve done for the past 25 years on Spook Central as a curator, writer, and more, has been enjoyed by so many, yet very few of these people have actually PAID me for my work. I can no longer work for free given that Spook Central is my primary job. While I may not legally own most of the content, it doesn’t appear on the site all by itself. It takes a lot of hard work and money to acquire all of these materials and convert them into a format that can be shared with others online. Making select materials available only to those people who support my work is the alternative to making ALL of Spook Central only available to those who support my efforts.

Is there any chance that this may become free to download at some point? Being that a new release of the films has/is coming out with Ghostbusters Afterlife and all. Not that I don’t appreciate the work you do to preserve these lost pieces of media, I really do respect that. I just think it’s been long enough that the download should be free to the public.
