Liner Art Images
The cassette was released in two different packagings - the standard plastic cassette case with fold-out paper insert, and one with the tape inserted into a large piece of cardboard (with a little hole at the top) which featured cover art on one side and liner notes on the reverse (wrapped in a plastic bag along with a RGB sticker book). The latter packaging, known to fans as the "kiddie" packaging, was intended to be sold in toy stores, hung on the racks like they do action figures. With the exception of the shape & overall design of the packaging, there is no different between the two versions and the content on the cassettes. (The last two images below were provided by Doreen Mulman, who has an opened "kiddie" packaging cassette. Mine is still factory sealed and will remain that way. Only my standard plastic case cassette is opened.)- Standard Cassette-Size - Front (153 Kb)
- Standard Cassette-Size - Back (166 Kb)
- Large Card - Front (Sealed) (153 Kb)
- Large Card - Back (Sealed) (158 Kb)
- Large Card - Front (433 Kb)
- Large Card - Back (548 Kb)
CD Printable Artwork
Chances are you want a copy of this rare album, but either don't have a cassette player, or more likely, can't afford a third mortgage on your childhood home to buy a cassette on the aftermarket. Thankfully, since I did a digital transfer of the cassette, you can use the 128kbps MP3s files above, or the higher quality (VIP-exclusive) 320kbps MP3s files and lossless FLAC files (24bit, 48khz) to make your own CD-R disc. That's great, but you probably want a nice-looking CD case to put it in. Well, I have you covered there, too.
Since the cassette came in two different packagings, and the "kiddie" packaging is square-ish, it makes it perfect to convert into CD jewel case format. Below are my "CD" conversions using the original front and back "kiddie" packaging scans provided by Doreen Mulman. Front cover was left "as is" because there was nothing to change. With the back cover, I moved the title and logo to the side, added the UPC code from my standard cassette case scan, and the rest was pretty much left "as is", aside from adding track numbers and changing "SIDE A/B" to "SONGS".
I brought the CD-format artwork into JewlLiner, an old jewel case creation program. That allowed me to have it properly sized for the printed page, while adding left and right spines to the back cover. I exported the liner to a PDF, which you can download by clicking on the image below. It is meant to be printed out at 100% on a standard piece of 8.5" x 11" paper in full color. I suggest putting it on a USB stick and printing it out at Staples' self-serve copying & printing machines so you get a HIGH-QUALITY COLOR PRINT-OUT.
