Ghostbusters: The Video Game - Ghostbusters 3 Movie DVD & VHS Review

Ten years ago, Ghostbusters: The Video Game was released and it gave us the third movie that we had been waiting 20 years for. Even Dan Aykroyd considered it to be "essentially the third movie". However, unlike most "movies", it was never released in a home video format, even though other video games of the era were (see: Lego Batman 2). That left the fans to fill that gap with several cutdowns of the game's story uploaded to YouTube. The longest one was already released on an unofficial/bootleg Blu-ray. Now, a shorter one has gotten a physical release...with a twist!
Spook Central's Disc Preservation Project - Limited Edition Physical Release

For many years, Spook Central has spearheaded fan efforts to preserve rare and out-of-print Ghostbusters materials so that pieces of the franchise's history are available to all, and are not lost to time. The natural progression of that is Spook Central's Disc Preservation Project, which is dedicated to the preservation of rare home-made and promotional Ghostbusters discs. This a project done BY THE FANS, FOR THE FANS.

This year's Halloween Treat is simple collection of Ghostbusters videos that I have uploaded to my accounts on Critical Commons and Internet Archive (there's also old stuff on YouTube and DailyMotion you can check out). There is a lot of Ghostbusters (2016) stuff because I recorded all of that stuff back in 2016 and have had it sitting on my hard drive for three years until I finally had time to do something with it.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game - The Complete Story Unofficial/Bootleg Blu-ray Review

Yesterday saw the re-release of 2009's Ghostbusters: The Video Game on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. (For digital purchase links, and physical copies in other countries, check out the official site.) Used copies of the original release are still readily available for the Xbox 360 (plays on the Xbox One), PlayStation 3, PC (plays on modern PCs), PC Digital Download (plays on modern PCs), Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Nintendo DS. (The WII/PS2/PSP version features stylized graphics and different gameplay [but the same story] than the other releases, including the new "Remastered" re-release. The Nintendo DS is a completely different game altogether.)
In honor of the "Remastered" re-release, I present a review of the unofficial/bootleg Ghostbusters: The Video Game Movie Blu-ray.

In honor of the "Remastered" re-release, Spook Central presents an audio recording of the video game panel from this year's Ghostbusters Fan Fest (on June 8, 2019). The audio was recorded by my dear friend Raffaele Ruffaldi, and is presented as complete as possible.
The Real Ghostbusters Music & Effects CDs and Spook Central Multimedia Update

Eleven years ago, Time Life released The Real Ghostbusters: Complete Collection. Since it's been out-of-print for almost half as long, I figured that it was finally time to add the exclusive content from it to Spook Central.

Extreme Ghostbusters: The Complete Series Unofficial/Bootleg 2-Disc SD-on-Blu-ray Set Review

I don't normally support bootlegs or counterfeits, but in this case, Sony's given me no choice because they obviously have no interest in putting Extreme Ghostbusters out officially on disc here in the U.S., even though they know that the fans want it. Since Sony doesn't want to make money off this series, someone had to come forth to fill the hole that Sony is leaving open. TJ of Monsterland Media filled that hole with his Extreme Ghostbusters: The Complete Series Bootleg 2-Disc SD-on-Blu-ray Set. Read on to find out more about it...
Revenge of Shot on Site Summer - Ghostbusters II Locations, Part 6
By Paul Rudoff on Aug. 25, 2019 at 12:00 PM , Categories: Ghostbusters 2, Filming Locations , Tags: gb2locations
In honor of the respective 35th & 30th anniversaries of the original Ghostbusters movies, every Sunday - henceforth dubbed Shot on Site Sundays - at Noon (Eastern) for the next several weeks (schedule here), I will go through the original two movies from start to finish, showing and telling you where everything was filmed in Manhattan, New York and Los Angeles, California. This will be part filming locations rundown, part behind the scenes exploration, and part "Making Ghostbusters". All parts are available here in reverse order: Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. I will be utilizing the home video cuts of both movies, which can be found on the 2014 Blu-ray Double Feature, as well as the recently-released 5-Disc 4K UHD & Blu-ray with Bonus Disc Set. With that in mind, SPOILER WARNING if you read any further... though I suspect that if you're at Spook Central, you've already seen both movies a million times over.
The majority of real world New York photos were taken by Alex Newborn in July 2014 and Lars Karlsen in July 2018, and are being used with permission. The enlargements for these photos, and for the movie framegrabs, can be found on the various Filming Locations pages elsewhere on Spook Central. Other images are credited where known. Locations were identified by various people and sources over the past 35 years. Those that are not common knowledge are credited on the specific Filming Locations pages (see previous link). The title graphic seen at the top was created by Lars Karlsen, based on an idea by Paul Rudoff. It can be enlarged for a better look at its beauty. Now that that's out of the way, we've got movie sign...
