Liberation Hall recently released A Dangerous Man (2009) on Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
After serving six years for a crime he didn't commit, Shane Daniels (Steven Seagal), an ex-Special Forces agent, is released from prison with an apology from the State of Arizona. Within hours of his release, he unluckily witnesses the murder of a cop by members of the Chinese mafia who have kidnapped a girl and taken a bag of drug money. Shane intercedes with the help of the Russian mafia, whose boss owes him a favor for saving his son from the Chinese cop killing that set off the chain of events.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:34:19. The back of the case says that the movie has been rated TV-14, but it's not a TV movie, so it doesn't get a TV rating. Also, the film is a lot stronger than TV-14. If it were rated by the MPA, it would be rated R for language, violence, and nudity. Audio languages include English (in 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Stereo). Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found on the Blu-ray disc.
- Making Of Featurette (7:18) - A standard EPK-style featurette with cast interviews and on-set footage.
- Trailer (1:51)
- RoboCop: The Series Trailer (1:09) - Essentially, this is the opening credits of the show. Ironically, it's in the proper 4:3 aspect ratio, which the Blu-ray is not.
The Blu-ray disc comes in a standard one-disc blue Blu-ray case. There is no digital copy code voucher or slipcover.
[ NOTES ]
A decent action flick starring the elder action hero, though a far cry from his work decades earlier. Temper your expectations, and you might find some enjoyment in it. There are certainly worse ways to pass 90 minutes.
A Dangerous Man (2009) is available on Blu-ray and DVD. The RiffTrax crew did a riff of the movie, which you can preview here and buy here.
