Faced with sagging approval ratings and disgruntled arms manufacturers, the U.S. President (Alan Alda) decides to cook up a new Cold War with Canada! But when bumbling U.S. sheriff Boomer (John Candy) and his hair-trigger deputy Honey (Rhea Perlman) decide to take matters into their own hands and lead a preemptive strike, they soon find themselves embroiled in a hilarious international incident that's too close for comfort, eh!

[ NOTES ]
Canadian Bacon (2022) is available on Blu-ray and DVD. The film is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It has been a favorite of mine for the past 27 years. The campfire scene contains one of my favorite jokes, and why I always refer to Jurassic Park as a "two-fer". Ghostheads will want to check out the movie for a great cameo by Dan Aykroyd. Canadian Bacon proves that director Michael Moore was "blaming Canada" before South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut did. It's interesting to note that it is, technically, John Candy's last film. He died while filming his next one, Wagons East!, but Canadian Bacon was released last.
