Sony Pictures Home Entertainment recently released the Can't Hardly Wait (1998) 4K UHD. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
It's graduation day at Huntington Hills High -- a time for Pomp and Circumstance, tassels and mortarboards, and serious introspection about the future. But tonight, the seniors will leave all that behind for the things that really matter; romance, revenge and rock 'n' roll. Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green, and Jennifer Love Hewitt star in one raucous comedy about the ultimate teen party, a once-in-a-lifetime alternate universe where class nerds become class studs, super-jocks are humiliated, and freshman crushes blossom into grown-up romance. From meathead to misfit, everyone will be there for a hormone-charged bash tapped for out-of-control fun.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:40:29. The movie has been rated PG-13 for teen drinking and sexuality, and for language. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found the UHD disc. Since this is a 4K only release, and it does not include the previously-released Blu-ray disc, these two extras are missing: "Special K's 411 Track Yo" (movie trivia using a subtitle track) and "You Know You're '90's If..." (a pointless multiple choice quiz to determine how much you remember from the 1990s). Also missing is the original DVD's photo gallery, though the Blu-ray was missing it as well. Do note that the "10 Year Reunion Edition" DVD contains the trivia track and '90s quiz, but not the photo gallery.
- Audio Commentary - with co-writers/co-directors Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, producer Jenno Topping, and actor Seth Green. This is considered the "original" commentary track.
- Audio Commentary - with actors Peter Facinelli, Donald Faison, Seth Green, Joel Michaely, and co-writers/co-directors Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. This is considered the "10 Years Later" commentary track.

- The Making of a Teen Classic (14:28) - The co-directors discuss the ideas they had for the film, while the cast further relate their experiences on the set.
- New Deleted Scenes (7:30 + 3:45) - These are the 11 "newly found" deleted scenes, which are separated into two parts when Play All is used.

- Deleted Scenes (7:25) - The original six deleted scenes.
- I Can't Get Enough of You Baby Music Video (2:50) - by Smash Mouth, reformatted from a SD letterbox source into 16:9 widescreen.
- Theatrical Trailer (2:33)

[ NOTES ]
Can't Hardly Wait (1998) is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD (10 Year Reunion), and DVD (Original). The new 4K release is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The transfer looks fantastic, all of the important extras were ported over, and the movie still holds up 25+ years later.
