[ NOTES ]
Three The Hard Way (1974) is available on Blu-ray and DVD (only in the 4 Film Favorites: Urban Action set with Black Belt Jones, Black Samson, and Hot Potato). Both releases are the Theatrical Cut, though the DVD runs 1:29:37; about 7 Minutes shorter than the Blu-ray. I'm not sure if that's due to some sort of time compression, or conversion difference, or if there's a legitimate edit on the DVD. I didn't do a side-by-side comparison. In any case, the Blu-ray runs longer, so that's good. (Note: The 4 Film Favorites set is two single-sided DVDs, each with two movies on it. No extras for any of the films, not even a trailer. Of the other three films, only Black Belt Jones is available on Blu-ray, and none are available separately on DVD.)
The version of Three The Hard Way presented here is the R-rated cut, so all the four-letter words are intact, as is a titillating scene where three racially diverse female bikers torture a kidnapped supremacist with their tops off. It's interesting to note that compared to an old VHS edition, in the aforementioned scene, the three girls are wearing bras, leading one to believe that a "clothed" version must have been shot for television airings. It would have been nice if this alternate version of the scene, or even the entire "TV Cut", was included as an extra.
