Warner Brothers recently released the Batman Ninja (2018) 4K UHD. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Beginning in Gotham City, Gorilla Grodd's (Takehito Koyasu & Fred Tatasciore) time-displacement machine malfunctions, sending a crazed cast of tyrannical villains back in time to terrorize medieval Japan. The most depraved is Lord Joker (Wataru Takagi & Tony Hale), who seeks total domination of the feudal states and the final elimination of the legendary Batman (Koichi Yamadera & Roger Craig Smith). With his arsenal of tech diminishing, can The Caped Crusader gain the advantage to keep Lord Joker and the others from rewriting history?
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:25:14. The movie has been rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, and for some suggestive material. Audio languages include English (dubbed) and Japanese (original). Subtitle languages include English SDH. Sadly, the English translation subtitles from the 2018 Blu-ray were not ported over. This is a problem because, as far as I can tell, the English SDH subtitles are based on the English dub and are not a translation of the Japanese script. Without translated subtitles, the Japanese audio is useless to all who don't understand Japanese.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found on the 4K UHD disc.
- East/West Batman (17:35)
- Batman: Made in Japan (14:04)
- New York Comic Con Presents Batman Ninja (49:02)
No digital copy code voucher is included inside the standard one-disc black 4K UHD case.
[ NOTES ]
Batman Ninja (2018) is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray Steelbook, and DVD. What a fun Anime story, with some really unique Japanese character designs of the familiar characters. Quite enjoyable, and ABSOLUTE STUNNING IN ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION.
The sequel, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League (2025), is available on 4K UHD (reviewed here), Blu-ray, and DVD.
