Universal Pictures has released, or will soon release, the Emergency (1972-1979): The Complete Series Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Hit the streets with Squad 51 in Emergency!, the pioneering series that was the first to portray the real-life drama of those who devote their lives to saving others. With sirens blaring, dedicated paramedics Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) and John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) respond to the most desperate calls in the City of Angels. A heroic medical team, including Nurse Dixie McCall (Julie London) and doctors Kelly Brackett (Robert Fuller) and Joe Early (Bobby Troup) await them at Rampart Hospital, where life-and-death decisions are all part of a day's work. From legendary producer Jack Webb (Dragnet) come all six seasons of this gripping and suspenseful series that captivated viewers and launched a genre of television.
[ EPISODES ]
The 30-disc set includes all 130 episodes (and six TV movies) of the 1972-1979 series that aired on NBC. Each pair of seasons is in its own thick standard size Blu-ray case with unique front cover artwork. The inside of each case includes an episode list, but NOT a synopsis for each episode or a list of guest stars.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The show is presented in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The show is Not Rated. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the special features below can be found on the Season 5, Disc 1.
- Adam-12 Season 5 Episode: "Lost and Found" (24:30) - In this cross-over episode that aired on October 4, 1972, the paramedics and hospital staff team up with Officers Jim Reed (Kent McCord) and Pete Malloy (Martin Milner) to help a six-year-old diabetic and a young drug addict. Presented in high definition.
No digital copy code voucher is included. The set is packaged in four thick standard-height and one standard-size blue Blu-ray cases, stored inside a side-loading slipbox. This is infinitely better than the thick all-in-one DVD-size cases that are used for most Complete Series Blu-ray sets these days.

[ NOTES ]
Emergency: The Complete Series is available on Blu-ray from Movie Zyng. An excellent series about the Los Angeles Fire Department; much better than the short-lived Code Red series that would come out a decade later. RECOMMENDED.
