Dream a Little Dream (1989) Blu-Ray Review (Vestron Video Collector's Series #25)

Dream a Little Dream (1989) arrives on Blu-ray as the 25th entry in Lionsgate's Vestron Video Collector's Series, "a line of classic and unique genre films, remastered and numbered, and packed with special features." I have reviewed several other titles in the series.

[ SYNOPSIS ]

Although Bobby Keller (Corey Feldman) has his best friend Dinger (Corey Haim) and his girlfriend Shelley (Lala Sloatman), he's not happy. His parents (Alex Rocco and Victoria Jackson) don't notice him, he's failing in school, and he feels that his life is pointless. Everything changes when Bobby collides with his dream girl, Lainie Diamond (Meredith Salenger), in the yard of his elderly neighbors, Coleman and Gena Ettinger (Jason Robards and Piper Laurie). Now, Coleman is trapped in Bobby's body, and his wife Gena is trapped in Lainie's body. In Coleman's dreams, Bobby advises him on how to fix his screwed-up life.

The movie is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:54:51. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English, English SDH, Spanish.

A Digital Copy code voucher is also included in the standard one-disc blue Blu-ray case. The first print run includes a slipcover. It is interesting to note that the back cover of the slipcover and underlying case includes three photos, only one of which is from Dream A Little Dream (the middle one).
