Up All Night: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review
By Paul Rudoff on Apr. 4, 2022 at 7:45 PM in Home Video

Mill Creek Entertainment recently released the Up All Night: The Complete Series (2011-2012) Blu-ray. No, this is not the Rhonda Shear/Gilbert Gottfried late night movie series that aired on the USA Network from 1989 to 1998, though I think Universal owns that, too. Maybe they'll license that to Mill Creek in the future. Anyway, Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph, and Will Arnett star in this smart, irreverent comedy about adjusting to life with a newborn. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Reagan (Christina Applegate) and her husband, Chris (Will Arnett), have long enjoyed partying with their famous talk show host friend, Ava (Maya Rudolph), but their glamorous lives change with the unexpected arrival of their daughter. Follow their wild and relatable journey through parenthood
[ EPISODE INFORMATION ]
The three-disc set includes all 35 episodes that aired on NBC from September 14, 2011 to December 13, 2012. Season 1 has been spread across Discs 1 and 2, while Season 2 is entirely on Disc 3. The second season was not previously released on DVD, and is making its home video debut in this set. I heard lots of uses of licensed music, so I do not believe any of the episodes to be edited or altered. There are some intentional bleeps and censors of curse words.
Disc 1:
01. Pilot (22:01)
02. Cool Neighbors (21:19)

[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The show is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
There are no special features. Sadly, the music video for "Basically" by B-Ro featuring Ava (from the "Working Late and Working It" episode), and the "Deleted and Extended Scenes" for six episodes, from Universal's Season 1 DVD set were not ported over. All of this content comprises a mere 11 minutes and would have easily fit onto either of the Season 1 discs here.
[ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ]
The set is packaged in a standard 2-4 disc blue Blu-ray case, where up to two discs can be stacked on top of each other on both inner sides. In this case, one disc is placed by itself on the left and two are stacked atop each other on the right.
[ NOTES ]
Up All Night: The Complete Series is available on Blu-ray. If you want to supplement your purchase of the Complete Series Blu-ray with the missing Season 1 special features, you can buy Universal's Season 1 DVD set. Since you don't need the episodes, just the 11 minutes of extras, that's not suggestible, unless you find it for $1.25 in Dollar Tree, like I did. If you have a DVD burner drive in your computer, feel free to burn yourself a supplemental DVD-R using my self-made DVD-R ISO (432 MB) and companion MDS file (4 KB). If you just want to watch the special features, they can be streamed in my Internet Archive account. If you want to author your own DVD-R, grab the Season 1 DVD background menu image and the DVD-ripped MKV videos.
