The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
• BUY IT: 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD.
• VIDEOS: Trailer #1, Trailer #2.
• SYNOPSIS: Return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a physical or mental construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson (Keanu Reeves) will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. And if Thomas...Neo...has learned anything, it's that choice, while an illusion, is still the only way out of - or into - the Matrix. Of course, Neo already knows what he has to do. But what he doesn't yet know is the Matrix is stronger, more secure and more dangerous than ever before. Deja vu.

• NOTES: The hard paperboard case fits a 60-page book with new writing by Craig Ian Mann and Simon Ward, plus archival articles and original reviews. The reversible case artwork features new artwork by Graham Humphreys on one side and the original poster art on the other. Both pieces of artwork can be found on a double-sided fold-out poster. Inside the case you will also find six double-sided, postcard-sized lobby card reproductions. Hands down, this is the definitive release of the movie. The only complain I have is that Arrow doesn't include a Blu-ray disc in their 4K releases, which would come in handy when I want to take the film to a friend's house. Hopefully, one day Arrow will come aboard the "Combo Pack" train.

13 Fanboy (2021)
• BUY IT: DVD.
• VIDEOS: Trailer.
• SYNOPSIS: An obsessed fan stalks his favorite actors from the Friday the 13th films and beyond. As a child, Kelsie Voorhees (Hayley Greenbauer) witnesses the murder of her grandmother, Friday the 13th actress Deborah Voorhees, at the hands of a crazed fanboy. As an adult, she discovers her grandmother isn't the only victim and the killer is still out there searching for his favorite Friday the 13th cast members and iconic scream queens to slaughter, mirroring his idol Jason Voorhees, as he still can't seem to separate the characters in the movies from their real-life personas.
• SPECIAL FEATURES: None.
• RATING: Not Rated.
• NOTES: Directed by Deborah Voorhees, who portrayed Tina in Friday the 13th: The New Beginning (1985), the film is a love letter from the cast of the film series to its fans. In addition to Deborah, the film features appearances from others associated with the franchise, such as Corey Feldman, Kane Hodder, C.J. Graham, Judie Aronson, Ron Sloan, Lar Park Lincoln, Tracie Savage, and Jennifer Banko. Even though Horror legend Dee Wallace was not in any of the Friday the 13th films, her presence is always welcome. If you love the Friday the 13th films, you'll like 13 Fanboy. I do wish there were a Blu-ray release.

The Requin (2022)
• BUY IT: Blu-ray, DVD.
• VIDEOS: Trailer.
• SYNOPSIS: There's terror in paradise when Jaelyn (Alicia Silverstone) and Kyle (James Tupper) arrive at a remote seaside villa in Vietnam for a romantic getaway. A torrential storm descends, reducing the villa to little more than a raft and sweeping the young couple out to sea. Suddenly, another danger appears: a school of great white sharks. With her injured husband watching helplessly, Jaelyn must battle the deadly predators alone in this tense thriller that rides an unrelenting wave of fear.
• SPECIAL FEATURES: Audio Commentary - with writer/director Le-Van Kiet. Making The Requin (9:23) - A standard issue EPK with interviews and scenes from the film.
• RATING: R for language and some grisly images.
• NOTES: A digital copy is included and the first print run includes a slipcover. This low-budget thrill ride, titled after the French word for "shark", reminds me of The Shallows. Due to the low budget and the fast production schedule, the visual effects are not the greatest and it comes off a bit like one of the cheap offerings from The Asylum, such as the Sharknado series. If you like Alicia Silverstone, and you don't go in with very high expectations, you'll likely come out enjoying this film.
