Warner Brothers recently released the Colt .45: The Complete Series Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Set in the American West of the 1870s, Christopher Colt (Wayde Preston) works undercover on a special assignment for the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps to combat the lawlessness on the young country's frontier. Using the guise of salesman for his family's arms manufacturing company, Colt travels alone, bringing law to the dangerous West at the barrel of his family's signature weapon: the Colt .45. During the series' third season, the character of Sam Colt Jr. (Donald May) was introduced as Christopher's cousin, taking on the family mantle to combat the nefarious villains and outlaws.

[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The show is presented in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The show is Not Rated. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH, but they have been computer-generated and contain some unintentionally hilarious errors. One example is when "Oprah" is used instead of "opera". After being auto-generated, the subtitles should have been spot-checked by a human.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
There are no special features.
[ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ]
No digital copy code voucher is included. Each season is put into its own 4-disc or 2-disc standard blue Blu-ray case, with all cases inside a side-loading slipcase. While I applaud Warner Archive for putting each season in its own case, the two Season 2 discs could have been included in a same-size 6-disc case with either Season 1 or 3. It would have made this set one-third smaller in size. That's a minor nitpick, of course. At least this isn't in one of those horrible overlapping-disc cases or the crappy ones Warner used for the recent The Powerpuff Girls and Manifest DVD releases.
[ NOTES ]
Colt .45: The Complete Series is available on Blu-ray only, but with the exceptional image and sound quality present here, you won't ever need or ask for a DVD version. Simply one of the best presentations of a 1950s television series in high definition I have ever seen. If you enjoy Western television series from this era, you owe it to yourself to see Colt .45. Be sure to keep an eye out for an impressive list of guest stars including Dan Blocker, Peter Brown, Robert Conrad, Angie Dickinson, Troy Donahue, Alan Hale Jr., baseball legend Sandy Koufax, and future TV icons Leonard Nimoy and Adam West.
The television series is loosely based on the 1950 film of the same name, starring Randolph Scott and Ruth Roman. That film is only available on DVD in a Randolph Scott Triple Feature set.
