MGM recently released the Amos & Andrew (1993) Blu-ray. Let's take a look at it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
An action-packed comedy about a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (Samuel L. Jackson) and the small-time crook (Nicolas Cage) planted in his house by the Police Chief (Dabney Coleman) to cover up a bungled case gone wrong.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:35:28. The movie has been rated PG-13 for drug content and some language. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
There are no special features, not even the trailer that was on the original MGM DVD.
[ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ]
No digital copy code voucher is included inside the standard one-disc blue Blu-ray case.
[ NOTES ]
Amos & Andrew is available on Blu-ray and Fullscreen DVD. The DVD includes a trailer that is missing from the Blu-ray, but it presents the film in 4:3 Fullscreen (open matte). Apparently, the trailer isn't even included on the 2016 Olive Films Blu-ray, either. I don't really think one little trailer should stop you from picking up this excellent Blu-ray. I should also note that all online artwork for the MGM Blu-ray shows "Blu-ray Disc" written atop the case in plain text instead of the Blu-ray logo, which would indicate that it's a recorded disc. Thankfully, this is NOT TRUE! The copy I received is a factory-pressed disc with the Blu-ray logo on the spine and back of the artwork. So, at least the first pressing is a factory-pressed disc. With that in mind, it's RECOMMENDED to buy a copy as soon as possible, in case it changes to recorded discs later on.
