Warner Brothers recently released the Grand Prix (1971) Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
An action-packed look at the intertwining lives of four competitive Grand Prix race car drivers. Starring James Garner, Eva Marie Saint, and international stars Yves Montand and Toshiro Mifune. Directed by John Frankenheimer.

The movie is presented in a 2.21:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 2:55:57 (include entrance and intermission music). The movie has not been rated. Audio languages include English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish. Subtitle languages include English SDH, French, German SDH, Portuguese, Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found on the Blu-ray disc. The first four featurettes are all from 2006 and were originally created for the 2-disc DVD.
- Pushing the Limit: The Making of Grand Prix (29:08) - This documentary features interviews with James Garner, Eva Marie Saint and others, alongside lots of vintage footage.
- Flat Out: Formula One in the Sixties (17:26) - A history of racing in general, and Formula One in particular, including interviews with real life race drivers.
- The Style and Sound of Speed (11:40) - Saul Bass, the iconic title designer for a slew of Hitchcock and James Bond films, contributed on Grand Prix by helping to do the split-screen technique as well as some of the sound design elements and other special effects.
- Brands Hatch: Chasing the Checkered Flag (10:36) - A tour of one of Britain's most iconic race tracks, which was the setting of one of Grand Prix race sequences.
- Grand Prix: Challenge of the Champions (12:45) - A vintage featurette made to promote the film before its original release.
- Theatrical Trailer (4:00)
- Speed Channel Promo (0:32) - This safe driving PSA has nothing to do with the film. It was included on the original 2-disc DVD from 2006 and was ported over to Blu-ray simply because it was on the DVD.
No digital copy code voucher is included inside the standard one-disc blue Blu-ray case.

Grand Prix (1971) is available on Blu-ray and 2-Disc DVD. A spectacular-looking film that shines on Blu-ray. RECOMMENDED.
