Warner Brothers recently released the The Huckleberry Hound Show: The Complete Original Series Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
The cool canine charmed early TV audiences with his unique personality, a slow southern drawl and fast wit that'll win over audiences of all ages. Viewers also got familiar with Pixie and Dixie (and nemesis Mr. Jinks the cat, who hated meeses to pieces") and future icons Yogi Bear and sidekick Boo Boo, as well as later shows which introduced the irrepressible Hokey Wolf, all of whom starred in their own segments.
[ EPISODES ]
The 11-disc set includes all 68 episodes of the 1958-1962 four-season NBC series.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The show is presented in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The show is Not Rated. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the special features below can be found on the last Blu-ray disc.
- Huckleberry Hound: A Linguistic Masterpiece (5:30) - Houndspeak as humorously interpreted by a linguistics professor.
- The Legendary Sound of Daws Butler (12:42) - An affectionate remembrance of the brilliant voice artist who lent his talents to voice Huck and Yogi, among many other beloved characters. Among the voice artists featured are Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Cory Burton, and Nancy Cartwright; along with historians Mark Evanier and Earl Kress.
- Huckleberry Quotes: The Remix (2:21) - Music video celebrating memorable hound quotes.
No digital copy code voucher is included. All seasons are stored in 3 individual blue cases, which are placed in a side-loading slipcase. Each disc is on its own page. The back of each case provides an episode list. This is the perfect way to release a TV series. I wish more studios would package their sets like this, instead of the clumsy "all discs in one thick case stacked on top of each other" garbage case.
[ NOTES ]
The Huckleberry Hound Show: The Complete Original Series is available on Blu-ray. The episodes have been restored to as close as "original broadcast" as possible, and you can't ask for more than that. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
