[ SYNOPSIS ]

Forty-one years after This Is Spinal Tap, now estranged bandmates David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) reunite for one final concert captured once again by documentarian Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner). Joined by music royalty Paul McCartney and Elton John, Spinal Tap wrestles with their checkered past to put on a concert that they hope will solidify their place in the pantheon of rock 'n' roll.

The movie is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:23:20. The movie has been rated R for language including some sexual references. Audio languages include English, English Descriptive. Subtitle languages include English SDH, Spanish.

[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]

There are no special features, not even the trailer. This is a shame since the original film has been loaded with extras for just about every home video release it's ever gotten in the digital disc era. Adding insult here is that the trailer is seen on boot-up on other Bleecker Street discs. I think it's on the Relay Blu-ray, since I remember seeing it recently on another disc I reviewed. No digital copy code voucher is included inside the standard one-disc blue Blu-ray case. There is a slipcover, though.

[ NOTES ]

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (2025) is available on 4K UHD Steelbook, Blu-ray, and DVD. It's not as good as the original film, but it still has its moments. RECOMMENDED.
