Warner Brothers recently released the Falling Skies: The Complete Series Blu-ray. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Falling Skies opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. At the center of the series is Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), a Boston history professor whose family was torn apart. Tom must put his extensive knowledge of military history to the test as one of the leaders of the Boston-born resistance movement known as the 2nd Mass. Joining him are Anne Glass (Moon Bloodgood), who becomes the primary medic of the 2nd Mass, and Captain Weaver (Will Patton), the fierce leader of the resistance. It is a tale of endurance, commitment and courage in which everyday people are called upon to become heroes.
[ EPISODES ]
The 10-disc set (two discs per season) includes all 52 episodes of the 2011–2015 series that aired on TNT.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The show is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The show is Not Rated. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
There are special features for each of the five seasons. In lieu of typing up a list, I will just place a scan of the episodes & extras list that appears inside each of the two cases. Click on it for a readable enlargement.
[ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ]
No digital copy code voucher is included. The set is packaged in two standard size (but slightly thick) four-disc and six-disc blue Blu-ray cases (one for seasons 1-3 and the other for seasons 4 & 5), stored inside a side-loading slipbox. This is infinitely better than the thick all-in-one DVD-size cases that are used for most Complete Series Blu-ray sets these days.
[ NOTES ]
Falling Skies: The Complete Series is available on Blu-ray and DVD. A comfortable post-apocalyptic science fiction drama that is recommended to those that want something good, but lightweight. I should also mention that in 2014, Little Orbit produced Falling Skies: The Game for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. I always think of this turn-based video game, which I have on the PlayStation 3, when I think of the show, even though the game isn't very good :-)
