The Batman Extra on the 1990s Sitcom Coach
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 31, 2022 at 7:10 PM in Home Video
I have been watching the Complete Series DVD set of Coach, the 1989-1997 series starring Craig T. Nelson, and paying attention to the college exterior establishing shots that were filmed for the show. I'm sure they're in Universal's stock footage library now. It's interesting to notice that various bits of footage combine with each other featuring the same student extras walking out of the building. However, I've noticed something very interesting in these seemingly innocent shots. Read on to find out more...
Aetna Rewards Program Sends Out Gift Cards That Look Like Spam
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 20, 2022 at 5:30 PM in Public Service Articles
Back in September, I enrolled in an Aetna health plan because I was hoping that it would help me find a dentist in my area that offered the Nitrous Oxide gas. I won't get into the issues that Aetna is causing with that. Instead, I want to focus on something else. The Aetna plan comes with some extra benefits, including the Aetna Rewards program which rewards members with gift cards for completing activities, such as getting a yearly physical or getting vaccinated. You know, stuff I normally do. However, there is a MAJOR PROBLEM with the program: The gift card e-mails that are sent out are formatted like spam, and I am having a hard time getting Aetna to re-send a $100 Best Buy gift card that was deleted with the 100+ spam message I get each day. The Unusual Holiday Song Collection (2005-2017)
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM in Miscellaneous
For almost every December from 2005 to 2017, I posted an "Unusual Holiday Song" on Spook Central as a gift to all of my dear readers. The Corner Penthouse site didn't exist at the time, so this was the only way I could share these peculiar musical oddities. Eventually, I grew tired of the feature, and it wasn't really appropriate for Spook Central anyway - none of the songs were Ghostbusters related - so I stopped. I eventually started a Halloween Treat feature every October, which was more fitting for the site. This past year, I started moving as much of the non-Ghostbusters content as I could from Spook Central to The Corner Penthouse. As a holiday treat to all of you, I present the entire collection of Unusual Holiday Songs that originally appeared on Spook Central.

Botchamania #464
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 5, 2022 at 9:15 PM in Wrestling
Botchamania is my favorite wrestling comedy series, which I've written about many times already. The series spotlights goofs (aka "botches") in wrestling programs. In the latest episode, Botchamania #464 (December 4, 2022), a Corey Graves botch that I spotted was used. Read on to find out more...
Paul's Botchamania Endings, Part 1
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 5, 2022 at 8:00 PM in Wrestling
Botchamania is my favorite wrestling comedy series, which I've written about many times already. The series spotlights goofs (aka "botches") in wrestling programs. In the latest episode, a Corey Graves botch that I spotted was used. At the end of each episode, user-submitted "endings" are shown. I put together a couple of endings over the years, though they haven't been used (yet) in the program. One of them is Ghostbusters-related, so read on to find out more...
How To Remove Anti-Theft Hard Security Tags From Items You've Purchased
By Paul Rudoff on Dec. 4, 2022 at 5:00 PM in Public Service Articles
Retail stores use hard security tags on clothes, purses, and some other supposedly "expensive" items to prevent the items from being stolen. That is all well and good - except for the ones Walmart and Target put around DVD box sets that cut indentations in the boxes - but what happens when you take the item home and notice that the store employee forgot to remove the tag? Read on to find out...
