Arcade (1993) Blu-ray and DVD Comparison
By Paul Rudoff on Aug. 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Home Video
Arcade (1993) is a low-budget sci-fi video game film from Full Moon Pictures starring Megan Ward, Peter Billingsley, Seth Green, A.J. Langer, and John de Lancie. It has been a favorite of mine ever since my friend Mark and I found the newly-released VHS in Blockbuster. I believe that Arcade was my first exposure to the lovely Ms. Ward. It latched on to the virtual reality fad of the early 1990s, and honestly, I'm surprised that no one has decided to remake it, or create a legacy sequel. With systems such as Meta Quest and PlayStation VR, and gaming culture being even more popular now than it was then, with gamers streaming on Twitch and Youtube, a movie about a virtual reality video game that tries to kill its players could work even better today than it did over 30 years
Crappy Multi-Disc All-in-One DVD & Blu-ray Cases
By Paul Rudoff on Aug. 17, 2025 at 9:00 PM in Home Video, Public Service Articles

As evident by the Reviews section here on The Corner Penthouse, I am an avid collector of physical media. For disc-based video formats, I've been collecting them since the mid-1990s when I bought my first laserdisc player. I graduated to DVD around 1997 or 1998. I remember going into Blockbuster Video at that time and asking them if they had DVDs. They looked at me like I had two heads! Suffice it to say, I have seen quite a lot of DVD, and later Blu-ray and 4K packaging over the past 25 to 30 years. A lot of cases are quite good, but there are many that are utter crap. This is especially true for the last few years, as the studios look to save as much money as they can when they repackage individual Season sets into "Complete Series" sets.

eBay Makes Buyer Wait Three Weeks For Refund Of Unshipped Item From Unresponsive/Dead Seller

This is another in a series of articles about eBay, who covers up the shady business practices of its sellers, while turning its feedback system into an utter joke. I will do my best to inform the public about eBay's scummy practices and the bad sellers that operate on the platform, so other buyers can avoid them. The issue I will be writing about today has happened to me twice so far, with the latest being from a seller operating under the eBay ID: yos5335
Shopping Report - Possibly Authentic Gene Kelly Autographed Photo Bought For Five Dollars!
By Paul Rudoff on Jul. 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Miscellaneous

For over a decade now, I've posted "Shopping Reports" on The Corner Penthouse Facebook page, and Spook Central's social media pages. These photographic reports are meant to document the items I find, and usually buy, from my trips to various stores, usually Five Below and assorted thrift stores. They not only help me to keep a history of what I buy, for how much, and when and where, but I hope they will also alert others to some of the good stuff that is out there. I make these posts to social media because it's just quicker and easier to upload some photos, add a little bit of text, and call it a day. The item I bought recently is such a damn good find that I just had to give it a proper article here on The Corner Penthouse.
