[ NOTES ]
Knuckles (Season 1) is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray (Steelbook), and DVD. It's a fun show, but the story is all over the place. In one episode, bad guys are after our heroes, but in the next, they have time to spend Shabbot with family and just rest and relax without a worry in the world. You kinda have to shut off your brain while watching because it's very over-the-top and cartoonish with characters that don't act the way normal humans would. Wade's sister, Wanda (Edi Patterson), is supposed to be an FBI agent, but there is no way that the agency would hire someone who acts like a petulant five-year-old all the damn time! Serious, she might be the least-likable character I have ever had the displeasure of seeing in a show or movie.
Her mom, Wendy, played by the legendary Stockard Channing, was the second-best character in the series; after Knuckles, of course. The scene where she and Knuckles were beating up bad guys set to the Jewish classic "Hava Nagila" is the highlight of the series. I also have to give props to Cary Elwes for his scenery-chewing performance as an arrogant bowler, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel for their Dodgeball-esque commentary team, and Christopher Lloyd as the voice of the Echidna elder. Finally, to tie this into the theatrical Sonic films, the first episode opens with some time spent seeing the domestic life of Knuckles with Sonic, Tales, and Maddie - all played by their big-screen actors, Ben Schwartz, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, and Tika Sumpter, respectively.
If you want to complete your Sonic collection, the first movie, Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) (which I reviewed), is available on 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack, and Individual DVD. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) (which I also reviewed) is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.
