Mill Creek Entertainment's Andy Sidaris Blu-Ray Series Review

Image

The unmistakable formula of director Andy Sidaris: beautiful people filmed in exotic locations with an unapologetic amount of explosions, gunplay, and Playboy Playmates & Penthouse Pets, all with big-budget production values on a low budget.... and did I mention women in and out of sexy outfits? For the first time ever, you can own all 12 L.E.T.H.A.L. films on Blu-ray Disc. Read on to find out more...

Star Wars Black Cover Multi-Screen Edition Blu-Ray Review

Image

On September 22, 2019, Disney re-released all 10 Star Wars films (The Rise of Skywalker wasn't out at the time) in new packaging featuring artwork that looks like a vertical smartphone against a HUGE black background with silver trim. Many times over the past year, I saw these releases in Target and Best Buy, but was never interested in them as I think that artwork looks really ugly - and from a design standpoint, all of that blackness is a a waste of space. Well, I received the Solo: A Star Wars Story Black-Cover "Multi-Screen Edition" Blu-ray for my birthday a few months ago, which was my first in-hand exposure to these releases. Well, let me tell you why you should AVOID THEM!

New York Community Bank Continues To Put Their Customers Health At Risk

Image

For the past three and a half months, I have had my health and safety put at risk due to New York Community Bank (henceforth referred to as NYCB) mishandling their response to COVID-19. I have been a NYCB account holder for over 20 years, going back to 1999 when I frequented the "Roslyn Savings Bank" East Rockaway in-store branch (in the now-defunct Pathmark supermarket). Since December 2012, I've been going to the "Roslyn Savings Bank" stand-alone branch located at 75 N. Central Avenue in Valley Stream, New York. Since I do not have a car, I walk the 0.8 miles from my home to the bank, which is a 15 minute journey. Of the plethora of banks in central Valley Stream, NYCB/Roslyn just so happens to be the furthest away from my home. Considering that there are other, closer, banking options, and that NYCB does not care about the health and safety of their customers, I have chosen to end my 21-year banking relationship with NYCB. Let me explain why...

Neca $9.99 Superhero Blind Bag Unboxing Review

Image
(click for enlargement)

I've written about many repack mystery boxes/blind bags already, including Neca's previous $6.99 Superhero Blind Bag. Today, for the first time since April, I was able to easily enter my local Target store. I just happened to walk by at a time when there weren't people lined up outside the building in the Summer heat. As mentioned in my July 9, 2020 Shopping Report, I found one of these $9.99 blind bags, which may have been floating around the store for the past six to twelve months. I finally took it home, so read on to find out what was inside...

LG UBK80 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Player Review

Image

Even though I have not had a good history with LG Electronics products, I bought the LG UBK80 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc player for $99.99 (normal price is $199.99) from Best Buy on Black Friday 2019. I was upgrading from the LG BP125 Blu-ray Disc player (purchased on December 10, 2012 from Walmart for $48.00), which was the only LG product that I never had an issue with. Based upon my positive experience with the BP125, I thought that LG, at least, made good disc players. Boy, was I wrong...

How To Format / Unlock / Delete A Clickfree External Portable USB Hard Drive CDFS Partition

Image

On Saturday June 20, 2020, I bought an open-box unused Clickfree Plus C2 2-Terabyte USB 3.0 external portable hard drive at a yard sale for the whopping sum of $2.00. (The drive has a model number of CA3C20-2CBK9-F2S and a UPC number of 817048015947, and based on the copyright date on the bottom of the box, it was manufactured in 2014 by Storage Appliance Corporation.) I had never heard of the Clickfree brand before, but I could not pass up buying a 2TB hard drive for two bucks. The box heavily promoted the product's easy automatic backup feature, but I figured that was just some software on the drive that I could easily delete. How wrong I was...

The Hunt Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack Review

Image

The Hunt (2020) is a film that just can't catch a break. Originally slated for a September 27, 2019 release, the film was pushed back to March 13, 2020 in the wake of a spate of mass shootings that shook the nation. Then the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March, severely limiting its theatrical run. The film finally got its proper physical disc home video release on June 9th, but that was in the shadow of police brutality that occurred just three weeks earlier. Well, after all of the controversy and bad luck surrounding this film, is it any good? Read on to find out...

The Invisible Man (2020) 4K UHD + Blu-ray Combo Pack Review

Image

If there's an invisible man sleeping in your bed, who are you going to call? Not the Ghostbusters, this time.

The Invisible Man (2020) is a re-imagining of the 1933 Universal classic monster movie, based on the 1897 novel by H.G. Wells (read online), though no mention is ever made of Wells in the film's credits or bonus features. Does it fare better than most remakes and re-imaginings? Read on to find out...
