eBay Punishes Buyer For Leaving Feedback A Seller Didn't Like

Image

This is the first in a series of articles exposing eBay's shady business practices.

I have a love/hate relationship with eBay. I like the virtual yard sale aspect of buying from different sellers in one place, but I hate selling there because eBay does everything and anything to inhibit sales from small-time sellers (who used to be the heart and soul of the site). For starters, they limit us to 50 free listings per month. Why is this still a thing? Doesn't the eBay braintrust realize that if you allow people to list UNLIMITED FOR FREE, then more items will be listed on the site, and thus they have a higher chance of making profits when those items eventually sell?!? They misuse categories for things that aren't about organization, such as charging a higher final value fee (12% instead of 10%) in the Books, Blu-rays/DVDs, and Music categories; capping how much you can charge for shipping in certain categories; or removing certain features from certain categories. They hide listings by rigging the site's search engine. If you search for "Ghostbusters DVD" in "All Categories", the site will show results for the "DVDs & Blu-ray Discs" category, even though the user did a search for listings in ALL categories. That hides any listings that may exist in other categories.

The Happytime Murders Filming Locations

Image

The Happytime Murders was just released on Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack (reviewed here), so it's an appropriate time to take a quick look at some of the California filming locations from the movie. I'm going to do this "movie rundown" style, pointing out some of the major locations as shown from start to finish in the movie. I'm only focusing on exterior locations, as I can't guarantee that interiors were filmed at the same locations, though I suspect that some were. All locations were identified by me, Paul Rudoff, here first. Then I gave the addresses to the Internet Movie Database. I take 100% credit for all of this. Finally, I'll keep spoilers to a minimum, but I can't guarantee this will be spoiler-free, so... SPOILER ALERT! With that out of the way, let's look at our first location...

MJ Holding Company Walmart Wrestling Mystery Repack Box Review Break

Image
(click for enlargement showing all box sides)

Surprise, surprise. I'm writing about another mystery repack box, but this time it's not from The Fairfield Company. This one is from the MJ Holding Company, LLC (in Bedford Park, IL), and it's apparently a Walmart-exclusive. The "Wrestling Mystery Box" (not to be confused with the Fairfield box of the same name), which sells for the high price of $19.99, contains "5 factory sealed fat packs & 4 regular packs" with "hits seeded 1:4 boxes!" I bought THREE of these things. Yeah, I know, what was I thinking?!? Was my $60 well spent? Read on to find out...

The Fairfield Company Target Wrestling Figure Mystery Repack Box Review Break

Image

I've written about The Fairfield Company's Target-exclusive mystery boxes in the past. Each of these boxes, whether they be for wrestling, The Walking Dead, or something else, contains a bunch of previously-released "blind box" cards/collectibles repackaged at a cheaper price than what they were originally selling for individually a few years earlier. Depending on what you're looking to get out of these boxes, they could be a great deal, or a great disappointment. This past June - yes, it's taken me five months to finally write this review (that's quick compared to other things on my To Do list) - I found a new mystery box, labeled "Wrestling Figure Box", priced at $12.99. Read on to find out what's inside...
